Dr. W. Douglas Weaver joins CVR Global Inc. Board of Directors and Scientific Advisory Board

Dr. Weaver is a world-renowned cardiologist. Most recently Dr. Weaver was the Division Head of Cardiology and Co-Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Henry Ford Health System; as well as a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Dr. Weaver was, in addition, a former President and board member of the American College of Cardiology – the nation’s leading center of thought and instruction on best practices in Cardiology. He has published over 300 articles, with a particular interest in the conduct of multicenter clinical trials.

In making the announcement, Peter Bakema, Chairman and CEO of CVR Global, noted commented – “due to Dr. Weaver’s extensive background in practice, instruction, and research into cardiovascular disease, he will add significant new knowledge and guidance to the scientific work of CVR; as well adding significant and high levels of influence in the launch of CVR’s ground-breaking diagnostic technologies.”

Dr. Weaver retired from his position with Henry Ford Health System in 2015, and is currently an advisor in Product Development with Stealth BioTherapeutics (a recognized leader in development of novel therapeutics aimed at improving mitochondrial energetics – being evaluated in heart, eye, kidney and skeletal muscle disorders); as well as a Director with the professional services firm, Navigant (a global healthcare provider consultancy).
